As our Electrical Engineer, you will get to work on a diverse level of projects with a team to ensure project success and client satisfaction.


Your Impact:

  • Serve as Electrical Engineer for different-sized projects, and take leadership on electrical-related code compliance, design development, allocated design budget, and assigned design teams.
  • Designing commercial and industrial electrical power projects, preparing technical reports, specifications, value engineering and undertaking technical investigation studies and providing power coordination studies.
  • Coordinate internally with other design disciplines and manage assigned design teams.
  • Prepare documents, evaluate, recommend, and support. Participate in the QA/QC process, milestone design review, and inter-discipline cross-checking.
  • Review and comment on Contractor RFIs, material submissions, shop drawings, and support project & construction management teams.
  • Participate in team meetings and design roundtables to improve internal processes.
  • Provide Professional Engineering Reviews and assume responsibility for the Engineer of Record.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently. Directly interface with clients.
  • Attend meetings and conduct field surveys. Develop accurate designs complying with company standards, practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop, prepare, check, and coordinate designs/drawings needed for mechanical systems per applicable standards and codes.
  • Coordinate with Code Officials and provide code summaries for projects.
  • Assist in project time budgeting and prepare project cost budgets.
  • Contribute to the overall business development of the company.

  • Here's What You'll Need:

  • 10+ Years of experience in the construction industry.
  • BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering.
  • Project experience submitted for consideration should include various building types in which you actively participated in the project from design through final construction.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License and willingness to be registered for design submission to multiple states Strong knowledge of building, NFPA, fire alarm, and electrical codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, team members, contractors, and vendors.
  • Efficient and knowledgeable in the use of AutoCAD and Revit 2017 or newer. Prior Revit experience is a plus and a willingness to learn Revit will be required.
  • Proficiency in modifying existing electrical distribution systems, arc flash hazard analyses using SKM, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience and ability to lead and manage an assigned team, external consultants, and cross-discipline coordination, excellent communication skills in order to understand the Client's, cross-disciplines, and team’s needs.

Your Impact:

  • Serve as CAD & BIM Manager for WNA Engineering departments to provide support and resources on all project CAD workflows and BIM standards.
  • Manage Drafting Team to fulfill project needs by assigning drafting and setup work.
  • Reviews, updates, and manages internal drafting processes and updates existing SOPs.
  • Work with management to increase drafting and design efficiencies.
  • Develop and manage WNA’s CAD design standards.
  • Aide in managing software licenses including overseeing software installation, hotfixes, and updates.
  • Research and manage the implementation of CAD & BIM supporting and related software.
  • Work with HR for posting drafting positions and conducting interviews.
  • Provide internal CAD & BIM training.

  • Here's What You'll Need:

  • Associates or Technical degree in Computer Aided Drafting.
  • Minimum one (1) year of management experience.
  • Proficiency in current versions of AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM 360 Software.
  • Understanding of Building Construction, Architectural Components, and Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection.
  • Six (6) years of experience working in a drafting department – Preferred.
  • Four (4) years of management experience – Preferred.

Project Manager Priorities:

  • Schedule project kick-off with Principal in charge.
  • Provide Weekly updates to Principal in charge.
  • Communicate with internal team on a regular basis.
  • Manage time placed on phases and change orders.
  • Follow-up with Architect / Client during construction.
  • Create/strengthen current relationships with clients and external teams.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Reviews and understands proposal and project scope.
  • Verifies Project Engineer at start of project.
  • Ensures WNA Standards and/or Client Standards are followed.
  • Manages clients, expectations, and deliverables.
  • Manages project coordination, meetings, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Manages budgets, hours, and project invoicing.
  • Oversees quality check and assurance reviews and deadlines.
  • Manages all construction administration.
  • Coordinates changes with entire project team.
  • Manages and completes all closeout documents.
  • Communicates weekly with all project stakeholders, including the Principal in charge, Operations Manager and Project Team.
  • Coordinates all internal resources.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Required Education: Associate degree
  • Preferred Education: BS degree in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or related field.
  • Preferred Certifications or Registrations: PMP or Equal
  • Proficiency in: Microsoft Office 365 and Project Management software
  • Experience and ability to lead and manage assigned teams, external consultants, and cross-discipline coordination.
  • Excellent communication skills to understand the client's, cross-disciplines, and team’s needs.

Internship Info:

  • This internship is a 12-week program, with 40-hour work weeks. (Length of program may be adjusted depending on student/school requirements.

  • Develop hands-on experience in areas such as design software, building codes, permitting processes, fire alarm systems, power systems, and field survey.
